Cats Of Interest part deux

This is the story of "Blue Kitty" he has several aliases such as: Thunder Paws, the other alias isn't very polite to say so I'll omit it this time.
He is the older brother of Stewart Little; whom we found in our next door neighbor's barn yowling their heads off all of them except Blue Kitty!
Blue Kitty doesn't meow, he purrs but the meow-er is broken; unless he's trying to escape to the outdoors!!
Blue Kitty weighs more than Stewart; he tips the scale at about 25 - 30 lbs maybe a bit more than that these days?
We've noticed that his belly is a bit more waddle-less lately, only because he's gained so much weight!
Blue's buddy is a 50 lb Australian Shepard named Danny; they've been best friends since Danny got enough weight on him to roll the cat on his back! Since then, the two are inseparable and quite the characters when tussling about the house! Blue Kitty is a "nurser" too; he waits for my mom to put on her "sucky thing robe" aka velour material. Blue wasn't properly weaned from his momma either, so he leaps into my moms arm, sticks his nose into the crook of her arm and proceeds to knead his way into slumberland. He sleeps for about 20 minutes, then finds a way to move my mom out of "the" chair so that he can sleep there all day!!

Cats Of Interest

Stewart Little lives at my folk's house. We rescued him and his two siblings when their eyes had only been open maybe 5 days? Stewart was the runt of the litter, therefore my heart melted every time I went to feed him. He and his sister were the only two that meowed loud enough that our neighbor Mr. T noticed them in the back of his barn along with parts to old Model T's and pipe elbows. Stewart's momma hid them in a not-so-comfortable place so that they wouldn't be found. I remember the day I got a call from my mom who asked, "what do you do with 3 tiny kittens without a mother? I asked if this was a trick question?" She assured me it wasn't ; so I brought home 3 teeny bottles and several cans of kitten's milk........
Stewart Little isn't very little anymore; he's gained enough weight that if he were to crawl on you in the middle of the night you would wake up because he weighs at least 15 to 20#; my husband knows this because Stewart likes to crawl up on his chest and "nurse" on a spot of his T-shirt! This "grosses out" my hubby but he's a pretty good sport and Stewie only does this when his brother is unavailable.

Too Cute for Words.

I was asked be DesertHen if I had made any "New Year's Resolutions" this year?
Truth is I kinda have; but as a key to remember, I make sure I don't tell others what my "N.Y.R." might be? This way, if I mess up I won't have people whispering in my ear! My next door neighbor's little boy whom I call "Little Man" is in this picture. He is the cutest thing ever.......his little face lights up when he sees me, he holds his hand up for "high five" and crawls towards me when I come over to visit. Truthfully, my "N.Y.R." is to be more joyful when I am in other people's company. It is so easy for us as individuals to complain about everything we don't have; instead of being thankful, joyous and respectful of ourselves and others!
I decided in this new year, I wanted to be a better person in all aspects of life. Now, if at some point in my future blogs I seem crabby, cranky and thoroughly ticked off........ It's because I was forced to be nice to a "certain" person in my family! Other than the fore warning, I will stick to my resolution I made this year. Best wishes to you all in the New Year!!!! Happy 2010

Happy 2010!!

Happy 2010 everyone!
I started thinking about what "New Year's Resolutions" I might make this year.
Everytime I make a "N.Y.R." I follow through for about 3 months and then I'm back to my old habits. Which makes no sense to me; anyway I thought some more about it and really a "resolution" is usually made to oneself to be a better person for example.
My resolutions in the past were very honest about what kind of person I'd like to be the following year!

A few of them were quite hilarious; so I'm gonna list them for you to have a good laugh. I don't remember the years these were made but they are still funny.

My New Year's Resolutions
Stop cussing: I learned to "cuss" from my maternal grandma( God rest her soul) she was a woman to be reckoned with when she was mad! At the time of making her funeral arrangements the funeral director asked if she'd served in the armed forces? My cousin and I snickered from the back of the room, we said she didn't serve but she certainly wore "combat boots" around the house!

Be kinder to my sister: This of course would be a snap because at the time she was away at college and I only had to "cope" with her being home during the weekends and the summer break! That particular summer she decided she would spend it "being a free person" a.k.a free of a job, free to disrupt the family sleeping patterns etc.

Spend time with my folks: I think I was back living at home after a messy divorce. I was working full time and thought it would be nice to have a "break" now and then to rest and recoup from long stressful days. Every time I planned for something, my folks would let me know a day in advance that they needed me to "house sit" for the critters! It seemed that everytime I wanted to spend time with the folks, they'd up and leave! One year, they said they were leaving to go somewhere for a few days and I asked where and then told them I'd meet them at the lodge! They later started hiring a "house sitter" so that I could have some time off with them too!

Be more patient: NOTHING is further than the truth when dealing with a "pokey" child!!!! At one time that lasted more than a year; I had a very "pokey" child......who took her time at everything! And it got a lot worse when we might've been in a hurry?! So I started getting her up a hour earlier than needed so that we might make it on time somewhere!

Become a neater person:
Every year on my Birthday I vow to become a "neat nik". Somehow it does work out in a strange way; I clean out my closets with clothing I haven't worn in at least 3 years and donate to charity, I clean out my car so it's clean and smells good, plus I have an emergency box with clothes, chains, blankets, water, etc. My desk is neat and organized to a point....don't look at it now I'm still cleaning!
I find that the neat nik thing is an ongoing project....just like when I rearrange the kitchen to my liking while my hubby is gone overnight; he comes home and has to figure out where everything is located!! That's my favorite part of being a "neat nik".

Here's hoping that you all have a wonderful, safe, Happy New Year in 2010!!!
